Egg Wash has traditionally been used to enhance the appearance of Pie Crusts, Danish Pastries, Croissants, etc. However, the presence of eggs can provide a risk of salmonella poisoning. This product contains no egg by-products, yet still has a browning effect (Maillard reaction) in an oven. Ideal to spray onto Hamburger Buns before applying seeds and/or onion pieces. Good to spray onto Hot Cross Buns before baking. Excellent for Savory Meat Pie Crusts, Sausage Rolls, etc. Egg Wash Replacer may be brushed or sprayed.
The Egg Wash Replacer is to be mixed with water at a ratio of 1:9 (one part powder to 9 parts of water). Mix only as much as is needed for daily production needs.
